If you are looking for a wide range of choices in the colors and patterns, wallpaper beats paints by a landslide.

Painting provides a nice color range, but creating patterns on the walls takes a lot of time and efforts.

Wallpaper is a great way to add visual interest to your home, specially with the wide range of colors, patterns and textures.

Wallpaper comes in many grades and finishes, each designed for a specific task or to create a particular decorative effect.

Common Types Of Wallpaper!

Lining Paper:

It isn't a decorative wallpaper or patterned, its a single layer of plain paper which is used for a good surface preparation.

Standard Decorative Paper:

They are particularly good for area of moderate wear around the household such as the dining, living  room.

But they are vulnerable to stains and physical damage, it is recommended for ceiling and walls in protected locations.

Washable Wallpaper:

It is a thin transparent coating covering over the printed paper pattern which gives them more resistance to stains and marks and allows them to be wiped down with a damp cloth.

Vinyl Wallpaper:

Within the class of vinyl there are three types to choose from:

1-Vinyl Coated Paper:

It has a thin coating of vinyl coating, it has the look of paper, the least expensive type of wallpaper and recommended in low traffic areas.

It easily stains, hard to clean and does not cover up the wall's imperfections.

2-Fabric Backed Vinyl:

Gets the A+ for durability, it's ability to cover up the surfaces imperfections and easy to remove.

Recommended in the heavy traffic areas, but it doesn't typically pre-pasted and will need an extra work to hang.

3-Paper Backed vinyl:

The best type of wallpaper as it shows the high quality look of a fabric wall covering, comes pre-pasted and easier to hang but will not withstand hard physical abuse.

Common Types Of Wallpaper:

-Relief Wallpaper: Plain papers embossed with regular or random design, intended to be over-painted once hung, and ideal for covering up defecting but need hanging with care to avoid flattering emboss.

-Flock Wallpaper: Textured wallpaper. when it is made, synthetic fibers are applied to give a raised pattern effect, it works very well in covering up wall imperfections but difficult to clean.

There are specs should be considered when you choose wallpaper:

-Washable: Can withstand occasional sponging.

-Scrubbable: Can withstand scrubbing with a brush and mild detergent.

-Stain Resistant: Shows no change in color after removal of grease and stains.

-Abrasion: Resistance: Resistant to scraping.

-Colorfast: Resists change to color.

-Peelable: The top layering can be removed, leaving a film of paper that can be used as a liner for a new paper, usually applied to paper back vinyl.
